Why i went to Gundrala Metta

Gundrala metta, a typical south Indian village, paddy fields, palm trees, this one had hills which created a picture perfect back drop.
Wood carving is the main source of livelihood here, apart from agriculture.

I designed some new products for them.

The designs were carved in locally available wood called cheema chinta (i must find out the botanical name!).

We had a dedicated finishes workshop to try out some interesting ways of enhancing the otherwise dry and pale looking wood. It was fun finishing the products with Bill. I got my hands dirty after a really long time. At the end of the workshop we had some interesting results.

View more pictures of the new range of products here.
