Painted furniture seemed appropriate as the collection was intended to be one of a kind. Furniture presents a 3-D surface for painting in which the inside and outside space can be played with. The flow of the painting can also be manipulated while moving from one surface to the other like the cube table cum storage.
The furniture is made from teak board. I wanted to retain the natural look so I tried to integrate the grain of the wood with the painting, it worked in some places and in others it seemed to clash with the painting.
The Tiger table is an attempt to bring a painting from the wall onto the surface of the table. A different point of viewing a painting.
