This summer as fashion runways world over see a resurgence of prints, Pure Ghee celebrates the Indian love for color and pattern.

It is not difficult to spot women in the brightest colors and the boldest prints as one travels through smaller towns and villages across India. These bright prints form the inspiration behind our new limited edition collection The cloth used to make these bags is used to make ghagras ( flared skirts) worn by women in rural Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Cheenth in Hindi means a spray or sprinkle and in olden times it meant spotted cloth. India was famous on the trade routes for its printed cloth which later came to be known as chintz. Over several hundreds years we still find versions of this printed cloth.

For all of you who share this love here is a slice of India which is hard to resist!
